Also, you actually do need to use your loss cards to get XP on the Tinkerer since IIRC they don't get much out of the normal actions at low levels. If the group as a whole runs out of steam before the end, one supportish character with a lot of turns left might just get beaten down instead of accomplishing much. You can lose two cards and still have a similar 'life' to a scoundrel who is running only 9 cards to start. They have the most cards, so while you are losing turns of activity by losing a card early, those are rounds that most other characters might not even have and you may not be able to get thing done on your own. I'd agree that Tinker is a character where maybe you shouldn't be too shy about using loss cards early.
